Was listening to this fantastic episode of the Psychedelic Spotlight podcast with MD candidate Fayzan Rab at Emory University who’s doing psychedelic research but with a particular focus on spirituality. The whole episode is a must listen, but in particular when Fayzan reads an excerpt from a Muslim’s psilocybin trip it both fills me with joy but also heartbreak (starts at 44:17)
It boils down to the fundamental question: how do you reconcile such an overwhelming spiritual experience when the path to reaching this spiritual moment is forbidden in your religion?
It’s a question we’ll be trying to answer in this community, but one that will almost certainly have no universal answer.
