Meet Jesus
Before the planners, before the peace, before anything else.
Sweet mama, I am so glad you are here. Before we ever talk about calendars or quiet mornings or fighting for your family, I want to give you the one thing that changed everything for me. The peace you have been searching for is not a feeling or a strategy. He is a Person. His name is Jesus, and He has been calling your name.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
— John 3:16
Part One: Come to Jesus
You do not have to clean yourself up first. You do not have to understand everything. You only have to come, just as you are. Here is how.
A. Admit
Admit that you are a sinner in need of a Savior. Every one of us has fallen short, and I am no exception.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
— Romans 3:23
B. Believe
Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, that He died for your sins and rose again, and that His love for you was never based on how good you are.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
— Romans 5:8
C. Call, Confess, Commit
Call on His name. Confess Him as your Lord, and receive the gift He is holding out to you right now. Commit your life to the Lord.
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
— Romans 10:13
A Prayer to Pray
If your heart is ready, you can pray this right where you are. There are no perfect words. He is listening.
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I am sorry for my sin, and ask for your forgiveness as I turn away from it. I ask You to be my Savior and my Lord. I receive Your forgiveness and Your love. From this day, I belong to You. In Jesus name, amen.
If you prayed that and meant it, sweet mama, welcome to the family of God. All of heaven is rejoicing over you right now.
...there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
— Luke 15:10
Part Two: Walk with Jesus
There is a huge difference between religion and relationship. Salvation is the beginning, not the end. A relationship with Jesus is walked out one ordinary day at a time. Here is the simple rhythm that keeps me close to Him, and it can be yours too.
His Word
Open your Bible every day, even for five minutes. Start with the book of John. His Word is how He speaks to you.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
— Psalm 119:105
Prayer
Talk to Him all through your day, in the kitchen, in the car, in the middle of the mess. Prayer is not a performance. It is a conversation with a Father who loves you. There are no perfect words, just speak from your heart. ❤️ Never stop praying!
Pray without ceasing.
— 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Worship
Sing to Him. Thank Him. Turn your heart toward Him even on the hard days. Especially on the hard days! This is how peace finds its way back into the room.
I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
— Psalm 146:2
Fellowship
Do not walk alone. God never meant for you to. Stay close to sisters who will hold up your arms when you are weary. That is exactly what we are here for.
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together... but exhorting one another.
— Hebrews 10:25
Wherever you are on this journey, whether you met Jesus for the first time today or you are coming home after a long time away, you are welcome here. We are walking this out together, one faithful step at a time.
Your sister in Christ,
Amber
