Better late than never
Starting my program today. Didn’t realize I didn’t pick a program so… 1.5 weeks late, but better than never. I have still been putting in the work though.
Monday and Tuesday were a no go. Since this is our safe space, I’ll admit I’ve been in a mental rut for some time. And the mental and physical very much work as one, so pushing through has been much more difficult than usual.
I’m following the Performance Advanced (Block 1). Following week 1, and since today is Wednesday, I started with Wednesday.
Hill repeats. Done on the treadmill so I could drop my youngest off at the kids academy so I could get it done.
Completed all 6 rounds at 7% incline (6% on the first), 5mph, with only walking 10-20 seconds each transition from incline back to 0% grade. Held the 5mph whole way through.
Have to admit… I’ve never actually done hill repeats before 🤣 Not intentionally at least. Also haven’t actually run consistently in well over a year. So I was going to only do 4 sets but pushed through and im very glad I did. I felt good the whole way, plus I’m training for my first Spartan ultra so…. Go big or go home 💁‍♂️
Anyway, question for parents: how do you get hill repeats in outside with kids, specifically a chaotic toddler?! 😅 Or outside runs in general.
