Verb of the Day: Entender
The verb "entender" (to understand) comes from the Latin "intendere," which means "to direct oneself towards," "to tend towards," or "to extend." It is formed with the prefix "in-" (inwards/direction) and the verb "tendere" (to tend, to stretch), which figuratively evolves to "to apply the mind" and, therefore, "to understand" or "to grasp information."
