Verb of the day: Derramar
The verb derramar comes from the Vulgar Latin "diramāre" or "disramāre", composed of the prefix "dis-" (separation, dispersion) and "ramus" (branch). It literally meant "to separate the branches," evolving to refer to scattering, pouring liquids, or dispersing small things, a usage present in Spanish since the 12th century.
