Attachment and authenticity
I find this to be a very insightful.. Attachment and authenticity are both basic human survival needs .. we need the connection to our caregivers and we equally need the connection to our inner world as a child..
When the expression of authenticity (child inner world) jeopardizes parental connection, a child suppresses their true emotions in an effort to maintain essential attachment relationships..
Over time, this suppression of emotions can cause adults to become disconnected from themselves, meaning they lose thier authenticity in the way..
