Scientists recently discovered that certain soil fungi can influence the formation of rain and snow.
Some species like Fusarium and Mortierella produce special proteins that help water freeze inside clouds. Tiny fungal spores rise into the atmosphere, where they become microscopic seeds for rain droplets and ice crystals.
This means forests are not only producing oxygen…
They may also be helping to create clouds and rain.
