Portraits and Subtext
The more you interconnect with your subject the greater insight u gain which then gives u cues on what direction to go in the photosession. I do deep listening. Its a skill u learn over time. In acting its called subtext. Have u ever seen the woody allen film Annie Hall? There's an important scene in the film where Woody and Annie Hall are having a conversation on one level and at the bottom of the screen our subtitles that show with their really thinking. If you practice you can hear what people are really saying underneath their words and that will give you insight into where to go with your photograph I know it sounds complex but it's just a matter of as I always say "being thoughtful"
What stories or subtext lies beneath these images?
