KITTERY, ME — Aspiring filmmakers, photographers, and digital creators have a new roadmap to professional success. This June 2026, veteran producer and mentor Peter Simmons will launch the latest session of The Film Career Lab, a transformative four-week online accelerator designed to turn creative passion into a sustainable, high-income career.
The Film Career Lab fills a critical gap in traditional arts education by focusing on the "business of being a creator." The program is intentionally designed to be neurodivergent-friendly, offering the structure, clarity, and direct feedback that helps creators with ADHD and autism thrive.
"The goal is simple," says Peter Simmons. "We want to help people move from 'dreaming' to 'doing.' Whether you want to land a studio job, become a high-paid freelancer, or secure sponsors for your YouTube channel, this lab provides the exact steps to make it happen."
A Comprehensive Four-Week Roadmap
The accelerator is structured into four modules that guide students from self-discovery to a finalized professional strategy:
- Week 1: Identity & Direction – Defining creative strengths and building a 90-day action plan.
- Week 2: Opportunity & Portfolio – Finding "hidden" jobs and building a portfolio that stands out to casting directors and clients.
- Week 3: Monetization & Pitching – Learning the art of the pitch and securing paid work or sponsorships.
- Week 4: Long-Term Growth – Finalizing a 1-year and 5-year career roadmap for consistent success.
Personalized Mentorship for the Modern Creator
Participants will meet live with Simmons for one hour each week via an interactive online platform. Between sessions, students complete achievable homework assignments and have access to email support. A unique feature of the lab is the ability to submit one-minute videos for personalized, direct feedback from Simmons himself—a mentor with over 40 years of experience producing over $10,000,000 in production work for icons like IBM and the Discovery Channel.

Enrollment for the June 2026 cohort is now open. The tuition for the full four-week program is $299, which includes all live classes, personalized feedback, and the development of a custom 90-day career plan.
