I’m James – the pair of hands behind Pen to Pan and From Soil to Skillet. I’m a chef by trade, a botanist by training, and a storyteller by necessity.
In my kitchen, precision and creativity live side by side: I build recipes that taste like memories and write scripts that feel like conversations. That’s what Pen to Pan is about: turning technique into story, plating dishes that make people lean in, and filming each step so others can learn.
Before a blade ever touches a cutting board, though, my work starts in the garden. From Soil to Skillet is where I cultivate the herbs, vegetables, and flowers that fuel my cooking and my soul. Growing my own ingredients taught me discipline, patience, and respect for every element that goes onto a plate.
This community is the next step in that journey. I built it so chefs, creators, and growers alike can connect around a shared ethos: cook with purpose, create with clarity, and build a brand that matters.
