The Victorian “language of stamps” —
There were guides claiming the position and angle of a postage stamp could send a secret message. Upside down, sideways, tilted left or right could supposedly mean everything from “I love you” to “Forget me not.”
Basically, flirting via stamp placement.
I love all these letters of bygone days secret codes.
