🦇 The Story Behind the “Day Walker” Caricature 🦇
Back when I worked with Joel in a call center, the world was just starting to become aware of this new thing called COVID. During that time, Joel got sick—really sick—and it seemed like he was out forever.
When he finally came back, we were all relieved (and being the jokesters we were) we started calling him a “Day Walker”. It was our way of teasing him for “coming back from the dead” and, of course, pulling a little inspiration from the Blade movies with Wesley Snipes.
That running joke sparked an idea in me—I decided to create a caricature of Joel transformed into Blade, The Day Walker. Shades, fangs, sword, and all.
This is one of those fun examples of how humor, creativity, and friendship can mix together into something memorable.
This memory certainly qualifies as a "Passion Project" because I donated my time and talent so a coworker and friend could feel welcomed back.
