I recently learned about the Huion Kamvas Slate 13. if you are looking to possibly replace your iPad, and want a standalone drawing tablet. If you’re looking for a solid media‑tablet that gives you a real drawing‑experience without having to hook into a full PC/Mac, the Slate 13 is a sweet option. Great for sketching, concept art, note‑taking, or mixed media. For pro‑level precision work (comics, tiny details), you might still want something with higher refresh / ultra‑low latency. But for what it offers, I think it punches well above its weight.
