Day 1: 7-Day Challenge | Hogan Randell

Hi! My name is Hogan :)

I'm a red seal licensed mechanic here in Canada. I'm just your regular ol' grease monkey who likes getting hands on with problems and fixing them head on. I am here because of Josh being the great connector that he is ;) Also, building my personal brand on social media can be very confusing and chaotic at times... So having some sort of direction is very nice.

I want to be able to effectively grow my personal brand with a direct mission and plan to do so...other than before doing it mindlessly and having sub-par results and being inconsistent. Also, on top of that grow my Skool community to help as many people as possible when it comes to the confusing world of car ownership!

I want to be known for helping confused car owners with maintaining their cars to keep money in their pockets through my hours and years of experience in the car industry. My dream is to open my own mechanic shop in the future and to be able to do content to teach people at the same time. I am also known for being a great teacher in this aspect. I enjoy teaching people things I've learned over the years that I wish I knew when I was an eager beginner. I just enjoy helping people who didn't choose the same passions as me when it comes to these things but trust me enough to ask for my advice. I would rather be honest and do things right then be a millionaire taking advantage of people the wrong way. I see it way too often and I want to change that.

Topics I talk about... I always talk about anything car related. I have so many random facts in my head that people look at me like I'm crazy to know such random but valuable things.

What problems people ask me to help with... Of course people always want me to work on their car because I can do it a lot cheaper than a mechanic can do with the labor rate being so damn high. Plus, people trust me so they know I'm gonna do a way better job than the guy who just wants to put a volume of cars out the door. Also any problems they have I usually have it figured out with just a few qualifying questions.

What experiences shaped my perspective... I just noticed such a knowledge gap of things I know and people who AREN'T doing this everyday need guidance and help. So I realized there was a huge demand for people like me.

What do I want to be trusted for.. I want to be known for the guy who will scratch your back for nothing in return. People to trust me blindly knowing they have 0 worries I will get it done no matter what it is and do it well.

What do I not want to be known for... I never want to be known for the guy who takes advantage of people who don't know any better for financial gain. If I am providing a paid service for example, I won't cut corners. I want to be honest even if it never makes me rich vs the people who lie to get the extra $100 out of someone. It's either true honesty or nothing at all.
