Hi, I'm Denise and the creative force behind Paint & Pause. Here my passion for art blends with an understanding of its therapeutic benefits.
My creative journey began at an early age, with Grandma teaching me to sew. This led to a degree in textiles, teaching Secondary Textiles/Art, then designing and making evening and wedding wear before moving to Shropshire in 1999.
Here I initially set up a creative space for both children and parents to explore a wide array of arts and crafts. I pursued a different business idea but I still supported creatively in schools and offered at home workshops.
In 2017 I qualified as a counsellor, also earning a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology. This led to offering Therapeutic Art/Art Therapy sessions.
My passion lies in enabling others to tap into their creativity. I serve as a resident Artist at a local primary school and teach watercolour sessions at the local Library. I love using all media including paint, textiles, glass, silver and millinery.
