The Words we Use
brought up an important point in The Mindfulness Game thread.
What we put out into the world (and into ourselves for that matter) has a lot to do with the words we use.
Words have power because they are a main symbol of our subconscious mind. They have more meaning than the literal.
For example:
A few years ago I decided to stop using the word "problem" and start using the word "Challenge" instead. Over time it really changed my persepctive and how i deal with things.
I also stopped using the words "good/bad" when talking in relative terms (like energy / magic / habits etc) and started using "wanted/unwanted".
Often we don't pay much attention to what we say or how we say it. We also don't pay attention to how our words affect us and the world around us.
I have a challenge for the rest of the month.
Pay attention to what you say for the rest of September. Don't make any changes yet.
Just pay attention. Make note of certain words or phrases, themes, patterns in how you speak etc.
At the end of the month, we'll talk about what we discovered.
