Mountain wicks
Hand-poured fire starters made with real wood and wax
Wood shavings or sawdust (pine or cedar)
  • Beeswax or paraffin ( I prefer Paraffin)
  • twine wick is better
  • Optional: crushed pine resin
  • Egg carton or silicone mold is better
Recipe (12 fire starters)
  • 2 cups wood shavings
  • 12-16 oz melted wax
  • 1-2 tbsp pine resin (optional)
How to
  • Fill molds loosely with wood shavings
  • I like to place the twine on the side, and I make it 1 inch long.
  • Pour melted wax until saturated
  • you wanna let it cool for about 2 hours
