Headed to San Diego for a few days. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna eat like a menace the whole time - its not hard to make smart choices and stay on track with very little effort so you avoid that guilty post-vacation setback feeling.
Firstly, I’ve got reservations at some nice upscale spots for a couple of meals where I’m not too worried about seed oils, but in general, steak or beef based options are less likely to have them because it’s cooked in its own fat. However if you can go to fancier spots, you’re more likely to encounter real butter anyways. If you want to make sure, just ask the waiter what they cook the meat or veggies in. No big deal.
Now being on the road is usually where guys actually screw up, but it doesn’t have to be that way. The easiest hack is just to hit up a truck stop/nicer gas station where most of them now have good stuff like Greek yogurt, hard boiled eggs, kind bars, stuff like that. Not too hard. The other thing I’ll do is stop somewhere like chipotle or cafe rio or a type of place like that, and always opt for a beef option.
I do plan on training and going on some hikes while I’m out there so I’ll make some posts about my trip. Im pretty excited to train at the gym I used to own that I sold back in 2019. The fella I sold it to did well with it, stayed open through the ‘vid nonsense, and is killing it!
