📖 New Bible Study Live: Luke 16:10–12
This week we're in three verses that sound simple but cut deeper than they first appear. Jesus is talking about faithfulness, but not the kind that gets noticed.
Here's the line worth sitting with: "One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much."
The word for "very little" is a superlative in Greek. Jesus isn't talking about moderately small responsibilities. He's talking about the smallest, the least significant, the things no one sees. And he's saying that's where character is actually formed.
We tend to save our best effort for the visible moments. Jesus suggests the unnoticed choice is not a rehearsal for the real test. It is the real test.
Before you dig into the study, sit with the passage and notice:
- What three contrasts does Jesus draw? (Little/much, unrighteous wealth/true riches, another's/your own)
- What does each contrast assume about where faithfulness actually matters?
