This week we're with Joseph in Egypt. He's been sold by his brothers, carried to a foreign land, and purchased as a slave. He has lost everything. And then the text says something remarkable.
"The LORD was with Joseph, and he became a successful man."
Here's what's worth noticing: Joseph succeeds as a slave in a pagan household. His circumstances haven't changed. He's still property. But within those circumstances, he flourishes. And his master, an Egyptian who worships other gods, looks at Joseph's work and sees something he can't explain.
"His master saw that the LORD was with him."
Joseph didn't preach. He worked. And his faithful work made God visible to someone who wasn't looking for him.
Before you dig into the study, sit with the passage and notice:
- How many times is "the LORD" mentioned? What is the LORD doing in each instance?
- What does Potiphar entrust to Joseph by the end of the passage? How did that trust get built?
The full study is available now in the classroom course area. Come back and share what stood out.
What might faithful work reveal about God to those who are watching you?
