Be Strong and Courageous
Scripture: Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
Today’s Reflection:
In this powerful verse, God speaks directly to Joshua as he steps into leadership after Moses’ death, facing the daunting task of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land. But these words aren’t just for Joshua, they’re a timeless command and promise for all of us. God reminds us that courage isn’t the absence of fear; it’s moving forward despite it, rooted in His unchanging presence. Life throws uncertainties our way, job changes, health struggles, relational tensions, but we’re not alone. The Lord is with us “whithersoever thou goest,” meaning everywhere, every time. Today, let this truth anchor you: Your strength comes from Him, not your circumstances.
Today’s Application:
Identify one area in your life where fear or discouragement is holding you back. Write it down, then declare this verse over it. Take a small, bold step forward today, trusting in God’s companionship.
Today’s Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for commanding me to be strong and courageous. Help me to release my fears and embrace Your presence in every moment. Guide my steps and fill me with Your peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
