Scripture
“Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children.”
Ephesians 5:1 (KJV)
Today’s Reflection
You are not just a servant of God.
You are not merely a distant follower.
You are His dear child, tenderly loved, completely accepted, and invited to walk right in His footsteps.
Picture a little child watching their father.
They copy the way he walks, the sound of his voice, the kindness in his eyes.
They don’t do it to earn his love, they do it because they already have it and they adore him.
That is the beautiful heart of Ephesians 5:1.
God is calling you today to follow Him, not to earn His favor, but because you already are His dear child.
Follow His compassion when the driver cuts you off.
Follow His patience when your coworker is rude.
Follow His generosity when you’d rather hold on to what’s “yours.”
Follow His holiness in the secret places only He sees.
You carry His name.
You carry His love in your heart.
The world should look at your life and say, “That person reminds me of Jesus.”
Today’s Application
Choose one way to follow God today:
• Speak kindly to the person who frustrates you most.
• Forgive quickly and completely (the way your Father forgave you).
• Show unexpected generosity, your time, your money, your attention, or your grace.
Write it down or say it out loud:
“Today I will follow my Father by ____________________.”
Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You that I am not a stranger but Your dear child.
What an unspeakable honor it is to be called Yours.
Fill me with Thy Holy Spirit today so that every word I speak, every choice I make, and every attitude I carry looks more like Thee than like me.
Let my life be a living reflection of Thy love, Thy purity, and Thy goodness.
I do not want to follow the world, I want to follow my perfect Father.
In the name of Jesus, my Saviour and elder Brother, Amen.
