This year I had the chance to shoot the Nendaz Freeride, one of the most iconic freeride events in Switzerland.
Mountain weather, fast action, risky angles, riders flying down huge faces…Shooting this kind of event is a mix of precision, speed, timing, and luck — and that’s exactly why I love it.
Here’s what this kind of work teaches you:
🎿 1. AnticipationYou can’t improvise. You need to read the snow, the speed, the line, the light — and predict the moment before it happens.
🎥 2. Patience + explosivenessHours of waiting…Then 2 seconds to capture the shot.
📸 3. Technical disciplineLong lenses, fast shutters, cold batteries, unstable ground, blowing snow… every detail matters.
💡 4. Storytelling through actionIt’s not just about catching a jump. It’s about capturing the emotion, the risk, the style, and the moment that defines the rider. 🌄 5. The mountain humbles youYou don’t control anything — light changes every minute, snow moves, visibility drops.Your job is to adapt, fast.
I’ll share some photos soon and break down the settings, gear and approach I used.If you're into action sports, mountains, or just storytelling through motion — this is the kind of work that truly pushes your limits.
