🏀 PLAY OF THE DAY 🏀
A1 drives into the lane and gathers the ball with both hands.
A1 jumps from one foot to attempt a shot, but B1 places both hands firmly on the basketball before A1 can release it.
For a brief moment, both players have their hands on the ball. B1 never gains sole possession, but B1’s grip prevents A1 from completing the shot.
A1 then returns to the floor while still holding the ball.
What is the correct NFHS ruling?
A. Traveling violation on A1
B. Held ball
C. Defensive foul on B1
D. No call—play continues
