I know EVERYONE says drop singles because "nobody" is trying to listen to multiple songs from a new artist. I think it's a double edged sword because if a real fan discovers you then they don't have much more to dive into. On the other side, with a single you can focus your marketing dollars on 1 song. You run the risk of it being the "wrong" song instead of a project where there's multiple songs where the fans and data will show you which one should be the "single".
