What happens when community builders get in a room together? 🔥
First, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who showed up for this week's Community Q&A Session. Your openness, your questions, and your willingness to share what you're building made this one truly special.
I had the honour of connecting with two incredible builders in today´s session:
Building a B2B community — 8,000 members in 🇩🇪 (ArtReich)
Navigating the real challenges of turning a large, engaged professional network into a sustainable paid offer at scale.
community for families in 🇧🇪
Creating a meaningful, values-driven space for families where connection, trust, and belonging come first.
What we explored together:
1 - Onboarding that actually works
Your first impression shapes everything. A great onboarding process isn't a formality — it's the foundation of retention, engagement, and trust.
2 - First engagement moments
The moments right after someone joins are gold. Designing intentional early interactions can turn a passive member into an active contributor.
3 - The "touch and feel" of a paid offer
When you charge for community, the perceived value must match the lived experience. Every detail, tone, structure, and responsiveness communicates worth.
"Community is not a product. But when you build it with intention, it becomes the most valuable thing your members will ever pay for."
These sessions are genuinely one of my favourite things to host. There's nothing quite like the energy of people who are actively building, asking the hard questions, sharing what's working, and being honest about what isn't. Feel free to comment below if I missed something.
If you missed this one, the next Wednesday session is coming 😎
