The Struggle vs. The Strive
The struggle is real. Sometimes I feel that heavy tugging at my ankles, trying to slow me down or pull me off course. As a Muslim, the path comes with its own unique trials. It is so easy to start full speed ahead, feeling energized and ready, only for something to distract me or cause a delay.
Even a slight turn of the shoulder—just a degree or two off path—is too much time wasted from the journey. Think of it like a pilot or sailor: being off by just a fraction at the start can lead you miles away from your destination. In those moments, I have to keep reminding myself not to stop, not to turn back, and not to let anything delay me. Even when the tugging feels overwhelming, perseverance in the face of distractions is part of the path itself. There is an ultimate end to this journey, and I cannot afford anything that slows me down. That is why I keep striving.
