She Spent 3 Hours With ChatGPT and Got Nowhere. Then This Happened.
My mom is 70 years old.
She has carried a dream inside her for as long as I can remember. A true crime thriller novel. A series of books. Maybe even a screenplay someday. She had a pen name already picked out. A secret author identity. Like a whole other life waiting to be lived.
She tried ChatGPT. Spent three hours on it one night. Got nowhere. Frustrated. Confused. Went to bed defeated.
Then I called her. I said, Mom. Give me 10 minutes. Here is exactly what we did together. These are the same steps I am going to walk you through inside this community.
Step 1: The Master Prompt
Most people open AI and just start typing. That is like showing up to a job interview in pajamas. You get a mediocre result because you gave the AI nothing to work with. The first thing I did was text my mom a master prompt. Think of a master prompt as your personal instruction manual for AI. It tells Claude who you are, how you think, what you want, and how you want to be spoken to. It is the difference between talking to a generic robot and talking to a brilliant creative partner who knows you personally. I told her: Mom, go through this. Take my name out. Put yours in. Change anything that does not sound like you. Then copy the whole thing and paste it into Claude under your profile settings in the personal preferences box. She did exactly that.
Step 2: The First Conversation
Once her master prompt was saved, I told her to open a new chat in Claude. Claude immediately greeted her personally. By name. With warmth. Acknowledging exactly who she was and what she was there to do. She texted me back immediately. It already knows me. That was the moment everything shifted.
Step 3: The Book Prompt
While she was doing that, I opened my own Claude chat and asked it to build her a custom book writing prompt. Specifically designed for a 70-year-old woman who wants to write a true crime thriller series, get it published, and eventually write a screenplay under a secret pen name. I got back a masterpiece of a prompt in seconds. I copied it. Texted it to her. Said, Mom, paste this in and just answer whatever it asks you.
Step 4: The 5 Questions
Claude asked her five simple questions: What is the tone of the book? Who are the main characters? What is the ending? What is the purpose of the story? What feeling do you want readers to walk away with? My mom answered them in her own words. Conversationally. Like she was talking to a friend.
That was it. That was the whole thing. What happened next stopped me cold. In less than 10 minutes my mom had a complete book outline. Twenty-chapter headings. A fully structured beginning, middle, and end. The characters were named. The ending was written. The tone was set.
Her text to me had two words.
Holy shit!!!
I called her laughing. She was baffled beyond belief in the most amazing way. Not just shocked. It was the most incredible wow I have ever heard through a phone in my life. Then she told me she wants to write a series. Then a screenplay. Then she mentioned she has always wanted a secret pen name. Like a whole hidden creative identity just waiting to come out. Her texts after that were just thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And I said, Mom. There is nothing out of bounds here. Nothing outlandish. Go for your dreams. Anything is possible. You have so much to offer. Let's keep going. She went to bed that night a different person.
That is why I built this community. Not because AI is impressive. Not because the technology is mind-blowing. Because of what I heard and imagined seeing on my mom's face through the phone, when she realized her dream was not dead. It was just waiting for the right tool and the right guide. You are here because you have something you have been carrying too. A book. A memoir. A business. A letter. A legacy. A secret creative life you have never told anyone about. I am here to walk you through it. Step by step. Exactly like I did with my mom.
Go to the Classroom tab right now and start with Lesson 1. It takes ten minutes. By the end of it you will have created something real with AI for the very first time in your life. Then come back here and tell us what you made. Your story is not finished. AI just gave you a new pen.
Welcome to Your Next Chapter.
