The Power Of Audio
Sound design is often overlooked in content creation, but it can significantly impact the viewer's experience. If you took away the audio to some of my videos, the entire magic would almost disappear.
Challenge:
For your next video project, spend extra time focusing on the audio.
- Experiment with different microphones. How does the sound quality change? Surprisingly I use a pop filter and record a lot of voice overs with my iPhone.
- Record ambient sounds and incorporate them into your video. I have a bunch of audio of my foot steps, my jacket moving around & more. You'll be surprised how focusing on your sound design will make your video more cinematic!
- Use music strategically to enhance the mood and emotion of your piece. Sometimes taking AWAY the music completely can build anticipation and suspense.
