My Neu 808 State of intention
Ok, so I know that this sounds a little ridiculous, but it keeps happening, and while I don’t know why, I’ve decided to use it purposefully.
Recently, I’ve noticed that I keep noticing the clock at the same time, 08:08, and it immediately pulls me back to my teenage self in the late 80s, early 90s.
Growing up at this time, surrounded by renegades, dance music, grunge, and shared nights of rule-breaking, always provided a feeling of being part of something without needing to explain yourself.
I realise now how much that period moulded me.
The music literally lifted you, people looked out for each other, and belief, inspiration and love came from the room, not from proving anything, and I suppose, in a similar a way, I’m noticing similar patterns in Skool.
One thing I’ve realised is that this time usually comes when I’m prepping for the workday ahead, and it’s also helped me to reflect and consider how business life can feel very loud and yet also, strangely lonely now.
Back then, confidence came from being in it, not standing out from it.
Weird as it is, I’ve decided to embrace this daily ritual as part of my routine, and I’ve even set an alarm to be present for it. My 808 state of reflection and intention.
