Iโm 40 years old, have two grown up children now; my son is 20 and currently studying at University and my daughter is 17 (almost 18) and a very talented writer and artist!
I am fully qualified SENCO & Assistant Headteacher with over 13 years teaching experience.
My daughter is neurodiverse (ASD and ADHD), meaning Iโve gained a wealth of knowledge and experience from the challenges and barriers we have faced throughout her educational journey!
๐ฉ Feeling as though you are constantly battling with professionals to ensure adequate provision and support for your child!
๐ด Tired of the struggles associated with EHCPโs or requesting assessment from Educational Psychologists and other specialist practitioners.
๐ Disappointed when people just donโt understand:
โShe looks fine to me!โ
โSheโs really good and quiet in school!โ
โWe donโt see any of those behaviours!โ
๐ญ Exhausted with constantly feeling as though you are fighting a losing battle!
I would like to grow this community, and create a sanctuary for parents and carers facing similar challenges!
I am aiming to post helpful content and tailor personalised advice, guidance and support for struggling parents/carers, depending on individual needs and circumstances.
My big goal is to eventually offer online courses, templates, bespoke consultations, and whatever else might be required - who knows? ๐ฌ๐๐ฅฐ
Thank you for taking the time to read my extensive brain dump ๐คฏ๐ซฃ๐ oh, I forgot to mentionโฆ
I was diagnosed with combined type ADHD about 2-3 years ago ๐ง ๐๐๐๐
My life makes sense now, and I think ADHD can be a superpower ๐ฆธโโ๏ธ and a curse ๐ซฃ however, we can save that for another day ๐ฌ๐
