Welcome to Wired Differently. I'm glad you're here.
I'm Amal. Late-diagnosed ADHD. Founder. Someone who spent years thinking they were the problem.
I wasn't. The systems were.
I was diagnosed at 40 (42 in Oct). No one handed me a guide. No scripts for the HR meeting. No letter for my manager. No roadmap for navigating a world that assumed I was neurotypical and penalised me when I wasn't.
I lost opportunities. I froze in rooms full of people I wanted to impress. I masked so well for so long that I forgot what it felt like to just be myself.
Then I got diagnosed. And everything made sense. And nothing got easier — because the world didn't change. I still had to show up to the same meetings, the same workplaces, the same systems.
I just finally understood why it was hard.
So I started building.
A medical device to fix how the NHS identifies ADHD. An AI agent that speaks for me when I freeze. A self-advocacy toolkit for people like us. And now this — a community for the people who are still in the thick of it. https://neuro-advocate.com
Wired Differently isn't a support group.
It's not therapy. It's not inspiration porn. It's not a place where we celebrate our struggles and call it healing.
It's a place where late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults get practical tools, real scripts, and honest conversation from someone who is building through the same chaos — in real time.
Every week you'll get:
  • Workplace scripts that actually work
  • Honest updates from my founder journey
  • Tools from NeuroAdvocate — included in your membership
  • A community that doesn't require you to mask
I don't have it all figured out.
That's the point. I'm still figuring it out. And I'd rather do that with you than pretend I have answers I don't.
If you've ever felt like your brain was built for a different world — you're in the right room.
Introduce yourself below. Tell me one thing you wish someone had told you when you were first diagnosed.
