Hypoglycemia Hack for Neonates!
Low blood sugar! Spot a neonatal kitten acting wobbly, pale or bluish gums, ears ice-cold, twitching or seizures, barely mewing? Hypoglycemia's hit.
Keep the little wiggle calm. Tuck it under your sweater for warmth. Then syringe a tiny mix: half dextrose 5 percent, half lactated ringers. One millilitre tops, slipped gently along the gum. Or if you've Nutri-Cal, dab a smear right inside the cheek. Watch those eyes focus again in moments. Repeat this every 15 to 20 minutes. Remember hypoglycemia can mask sepsis! If the kitten is not responding take it to the nearest emergency vet! 🐱
