Introductions

I'll go first...

Ahoy shipmates — I’m Phil Wilson (Founder of Nautical Me!). I live in Massachusetts, USA on Cape Cod. I'm a retired tech exec. I want to create a thriving Nautical Me! community so I can learn from others and find others who want to share their own nautical passions and thinking... merely for the fun of it!

For instance, have you sailed in the USA's Great Lakes? French Polynesia? I'd love to hear about topics like these!

I’ve loved the nautical world for as long as I can remember — especially the lore and history: stories of discovery, naval warfare, and how nautical technology has evolved across the centuries.

I’m also a big fan of nautical Audibles and sea-going books (if it involves rigging, sea lanes, or a stubborn captain, I’m in).

On the hands-on side, I’m a ship modeler, and I’ve always had a soft spot for racing — both small-boat and big-boat on both the sail / foiling and powerboat sides.

I’m also into chartering and bareboating, and I can happily lose an afternoon talking nautical décor and decoration (fixing up your boat, house, apartments, etc. as well as building / making half-hulls, signal flag art, quarter board art, you name it).

Fun fact: when I was in 6th grade, I played a Pilgrim in a movie about the Mayflower II.
