Grounding is a mindful practice to being at one with Mother Earth and with feeling connected to the Earth.
Grounding is a part of bringing our mindfulness and energies to ourselves to focus in the Now. There are many approaches on how to ground but primarily, the one we will use today is known as the Tree Roots. Rooting your energy and knowing when to ground after being open it is better to bring yourself back to the present moment.
Grounding is the art of practice, of making sure your energies are wholly your own and making sure your lens, the way how you look at life is centered in the now part of the reality. Grounding is about grounding yourself making sure you are firmly footed on the ground, ensuring stability, foundations and strength is found in solidifying connections within our present and waking day life.
Our intention is to ground.... therefore I ask you to calmly quieten your mind down and fine tune out the erratic thoughts, to breathe in and exhale out, twice to relax. Find a comfy place to sit whether its in the back of your mindset or the forefront and breathe in for 4 counts 1.2.3.4 and out, for four counts, 1,2,3,4. Then in your awareness, find a focus of a tree, it can be any tree you wish to work with, it doesn't necessarily have to be an oak tree, but select a tree in the consciousness of your awareness or from one that's local to you now and visualize yourself leaning back against its trunk, feeling the grooves and the crannies in the trunk, as you sit down purposefully in this moment, you are becoming more and more aware of yourself, your body's tensions and stresses, you place both feet firmly on the ground and wait for the roots themselves to combine and merge with your own roots making sure they press downwards sturdily but firmly into the ground and start descending through the layers on layers of earth and soil, the pebble dash through the many layers to molten lava, the core of the earth, where it rests firmly on the rock within the earthly crust. As these roots have merged with your own, you can now envision a beam of gold light coming up from the earth, and from the universal clouds parting, descending to meet this golden light being drawn up from the earth is a beautiful pure white heavenly light of healing energy, coming down to greet the golden energy that's coming up from the earth.
Continue breathing steadily and visualize yourself standing in your mind's eye in the midst of the gold/white light that as they collide, you find yourself firmly grounded and also, centered in your energy to continue your journey to the next step. Do this exercise daily until you become used to grounding and centering before moving onto protecting your energy.
