When helping with homework, how do you know when to step in and when to step back?
Honestly, I don’t always get it right 😅
Most of the time, I watch their body language. If they’re quiet and thinking, a little stuck but still trying, I just step back and let them learn by themselves.
But if I can see the sighs getting louder, the frustration building, or even tears starting… that’s my cue to step in. Not to actually give them the answer, but just to sit beside them and say,
“Okay, tell me what are we trying to do here?
Sometimes they need space, sometimes they need support.
It’s a constant balance, and honestly, I'm also just figuring it out as it goes.
How about you? I'd like to hear your thoughts 🤔
