SelfCare meets Mondays
I will be the first one to admit that as much as I talk about people need to take care of themselves I am still guilty of forgetting such things. For instance, I had an appointment set for today that I had sent last week and had Every intentions on putting on my calendar. However, it wasn’t until 430 this afternoon, which was six hours after my appointment, that I realized I had missed it. First of all, I was beyond shocked that I have forgot it because of how important it is. So after being upset with myself and trying to figure out how it happened, I didn’t realize the other important part that I say a lot. Yes, it is important to take care of yourselves, even to the point of putting it on the counter and blocking out time. It is also important to give yourself grace and understanding. Meaning it’s OK if you forgot. You didn’t do it on purpose. Just go ahead and make the appointment for another time and day. Except this time I will make sure that I added it to my calendar because as apparently where I forgot. Taken care of yourself sometimes this trial and error, you won’t always get it the first time and sometimes you will. Congratulate yourself on the days that you do a good job and encourage yourself on the days that you don’t exactly reached a mark. Either way, tend to yourself. Cause you’re no good to anyone else if you’re not taking care of you.
