Breakdowns not full enough?
I’ve been struggling to make my breakdowns feel more emotional and engaging. Whenever I get to that part of the track, it feels a bit empty or flat, and I’m not sure how to build tension without overcomplicating things.
I’m working on a melodic house track right now, and I want the breakdown to really grab the listener before the drop hits. I’ve tried adding pads, vocal chops, and even automating filters, but it’s still not quite there.
How do you guys approach creating atmosphere and emotion in your breakdowns? Any tips or techniques you use to keep things interesting without making it too busy? Would love to hear your thoughts!
