🐾 Friday Fun Day: Not All Enrichment Looks the Same
Just as we all have different ways of relaxing, learning, and staying engaged, so do our animal companions. Enrichment activities not only give them a chance to unwind, it gives you a chance to spend quality time together.
A long walk or game of fetch can be wonderful, but physical exercise is only one piece of the puzzle.
Sometimes just 10 minutes of focused mental engagement can help a companion feel calmer, more settled, and more fulfilled.
Here are a few ideas to try:
🌿 For the explorer
Hide treats around the house or yard and encourage them to use their nose to find them.
🧩 For the thinker
Offer a snuffle mat, puzzle toy, or food-dispensing activity that encourages problem-solving.
🎾 For the active companion
Try a short training game, obstacle course, or interactive play session that engages both body and mind.
❤️ For the sensitive soul
Enjoy a calm enrichment activity such as licking mats, gentle massage, quiet scent work, or simply spending focused time together.
🌎 For the curious learner
Introduce a new object, safe texture, scent, or environment to explore at their own pace.
Today's Question:
What enrichment activity does your companion enjoy most?
Bonus question: Have you noticed that some activities help them feel calmer while others leave them more energized?
Share a photo if you'd like—we'd love to see your companion having fun! 🐾💚
