Back in school, I couldn’t stand algebra. All those letters x, y, z felt like nonsense.
Then it clicked. The letters weren’t random. They were unknowns. And the key to solving them was simple: if you know the constant, you can figure out the rest.
Life works the same way.
We get paralyzed by the unknowns:
- What if it doesn’t work
- What if I can’t raise the money
- What if the contract falls through
- What if I’m too late
There will always be “what ifs.” That’s life’s algebra.
The only way forward is to focus on the constants:
- You’ve prepared
- You have the skills
- You know the material
- You’ve built the right team
- You’ve run the numbers
Those are your anchors. That’s your constant.
The unknowns don’t go away, but they lose their power when you move with what you do know.
This week’s reset
Don’t obsess over variables you can’t solve yet. Anchor yourself in the constants you can. Post one constant you’re standing on this week, and let’s encourage each other to keep moving forward.
