Emotions Are Not Misbehavior
When children show big emotions, it doesn’t mean they are being “bad.”
Crying, yelling, refusing, hiding — these are feelings they can’t express yet, not misbehavior.
Emotions are a child’s way of saying:
“I need help.”
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“Please stay with me.”
When we treat the feeling with patience instead of punishment, we teach:
“Your feelings are safe with me.”
What emotion did your child show today?
