Linux Noobie (not for long)
Hi friends. Im Oliver, and i'm starting completely from scratch and my short-term goal is to be able to install arch linux manually.
Im happy to have found direction from Mischa's video, and i entered this space to gain more control in this "computer world", espescially after Mischa's video on Why not to use Microsoft https://youtu.be/N4TFS86kfYk?si=CZSCxyfFV8raVkEf
So here I am learning and embarking on my Linux Journey <3
I've been studying 1-2 weeks so far, and from my understanding, I must develop OPERATIONAL FLUENCY with Linux (before I head onto bigger projects like HomeLabs).
My understanding of Linux Theory thus far is, to operate with Linux fluently, there is 5 parts:
1) The 101s (i.e What is linux, distros, Hardware, Software, etc)
2) The Directories (i.e root, bin, usr, vsr, tmp, etc)
3) The Commands (i.e Shell, pwd, cd, ls, man, etc)
4) The Permissions (i.e User, Group, Files vs Directories, categories, etc)
5) The Editing (i.e Viewing files, editing files, nano, vi, emacs, etc)
6) The Management (i.e Copy, move rename files, wildcards, netowrking, etc)
I know there are some experienced individuals that might be able to give me some of their thoughts on my understanding
And also, so my question to you is:
a) How would you go back in time and learn linux again?
b) How would you develop the experience to get where you are today with linux? (to atleast install arch linux)
That's all from me, and looking forward to updating my journey in this group moving forward
Sincerely, Oliver.
