How do we know what action is the right action?
Hi , after setting our goal and deadline we are obviously supposed to start taking action.
My question is, how do we know "what action is the right action?"
I ask because one could be doing infinitely different things.
And as a result of this they can also end up being involved in things that dont necessarily move the needle forward.
So how is one supposed to know? Is it a "feeling" that guides us?
Ill use my own example.
After setting my goal I had no idea what I should be doing.
So I decided to do whatever I felt was relatively easy to do based on my current circumstances. But at the same time also has the possibility of moving me towards my goal.
So i went and attended a networking event.
The event was not very beneficial but it did make me feel a little more confident of my unique perspective in terms kf givijg value to business owners.
And I also met one guy who needed help me feel amarketing services. He took my contact.
I wasnt really interested in trying to get his business though. It just didnt feel resonant but im keepijg an open mind and he wants to meet on wednesday.
After that I decided to go for another more private networking event.
I got a few good contacts there but it didnt feel resonant for whatever reason.
Although I did bump into one person who seems quite connected, owns a consulting firm and needed my perspective on marketing.
This one was the most resonant of all the contacts I got but even then it didnt really click for me.
Im still talking to him though and may be we will do some business together.
Maybe not. Regardless, it doesnt really inspire me im not sure why.
There was another guy i emailed. He was a marketing consultant. I asked if i can do a live event for his audience sharing what I learnt from Bob Proctor.
I didnt expect him to respond back but he actually did respond although he declined.
However when I read his message i felt like an instant flash in my mind.
I didnt even see the decline. I saw his message as something he really thought about and for some reason it felt like a near perfect possible opportunity.
Now whats funny is the other guys showed some degree of interest but I didnt feel much.
This particular guy declined and I felt like this could be a huge opportunity.
I Quickly understand he has some false assumptions about what I wanted to speak about and I felt like If i could clesrly address those in an empathetic way in my email, maybe I could get him to reconsider.
So I spent several hours crafting a thoughtful email to respond back to him
We dont know if he'll reply so lets see.
So that brings me back to my question, "how do I know what action could I be taking because I dont really want to spend hours teaveling to networking event with very little upside?".
Im sure there must be a way to take effective aligned action vs simply doing anything?
