HOW TO INFLUENCE YOUR MINDSET POSITIVELY
Influencing your mindset positively requires a combination of self-awareness, intention and practice. Here are some strategies to help you cultivate a positive mindset.
1) SELF-AWARENESS
To recognise negative thoughts is to become aware of your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. Notice when you are thinking negatively or limiting your thoughts.
-Identify triggers: Is by reflecting on the situations, the people, or the events that trigger negative thoughts or emotions, and also by understanding your values, clarify your core values and priorities to help guide your thoughts and actions.
2) POSITIVE SELF-TALK
Practice affirmations by repeat positive affirmations to yourself, such as “I am capable and competent” or “I am worthy of love and respect”. Also use positive language to your self and speak kindly to yourself and others, by using positive and uplifting language. You can also reframe negative thoughts by taking challenges and negative thoughts and reframe them in a positive or neutral light.
3) MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION
By practicing mindfulness you will focus on the present moment, without judgement to reduce stress and increase calm and you will meditate regularly because regular meditation can help reduce negative thoughts, improve mood and increase self-awareness. You can also use guided meditations by utilising guided meditations or apps to help you get started with mindfulness and meditation.
4) GRATITUDE AND POSITIVITY
By practicing gratitude, reflect on the things you are grateful for each day, no matter how small they may seem to be and also try to focus on the positive by intentionally focus on the positives aspects of your life, relationships, and experiences. You will also try to celebrate your success, by acknowledging and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may seem to be.
5) PHYSICAL WELL-BEING
By exercising regularly, physical activity can improve mood, reduce stress and increase energy levels and try to get enough sleep, for prioritise getting enough sleep each night to help regulate your mood and reduce stress. By eating balanced diet, it’s fuel your body with includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein sources.
6) SOCIAL CONNECTIONS
Surround yourself with positivity by spreading time with people who support and uplift you, also try to build strong relationships by nurturing your relationships with family, and colleagues and also Join a community by connecting with others through hobbies, clubs, or volunteer work.
7) PERSONAL GROWTH
By setting goals and challenges, achievable goals and challenges helps you grow and develop, try also to learn from failures, view your failures as opportunities for growth and learning. Try to also practice self-compassion by treating yourself with kindness, understanding, and patience, just as you would do to a close friend or relative. - Remember cultivating a positive mindset takes time, effort and practice.
