Public Safety: Massive Fire in Roxbury
An 8-alarm fire broke out at a large trash transfer station on Gerard Street in Roxbury this morning. Approximately 150 Boston firefighters responded to the blaze. Fire Commissioner Paul Burke ordered all firefighters out of the building due to hazardous conditions. Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed because of heavy smoke, though no evacuations are currently necessary. wbur.org+1businessinsider.com+1
