Stone build
I picked up this sheet of tiles on a walk last week after spotting it on the side of the road. I instantly fell in love with the colour and texture of the stone. As always, I have no idea what I’m building—I just let the materials lead the way.
I used an old picture frame as the base and cut the tiles to fit. I stripped the backing off each piece with a knife before gluing the stone onto the frame. A woodworking friend gave me a bundle of cedar strips, which I used to build the walls. The flooring is made from coffee stir sticks. For the roof, I found a piece of bark and added a branch I cut from a bush last fall.
The last photo shows the build in its current state. I’ll keep refining the roof, add another section of flooring beneath it, and then move on to the moss work and all the little details that bring it to life.
