Advice on talking to girls

So ive been messaging this girl for a few weeks now on and off and im going to a party tomorrow. I want to try and talk to her at the party but we've never spoken in person and ivd never had a girlfriend/talked to girls in that sense so im way out of my comfort zone. I guess im just asked for advice and how I should approach it and how to know when I should leave cus I dont want to come off as to eager or weird you know. Any advice helps
