Fight Procrastination
“Procrastination is a form of ego. It’s assuming everything will remain the same so you can delay what must be done.”— Ryan Holiday
Naval Ravikant often frames procrastination another way — as the ego protecting itself from the pain of failure.
Read that again.
In real estate, procrastination rarely looks like laziness. It looks like preparing. Tweaking scripts. Waiting to feel more confident. Watching one more market update. Telling yourself you’ll make the calls tomorrow.
But underneath it, the ego is whispering: “What if I fail?” “What if I sound unprepared?” “What if they say no?”
So we wait. And waiting feels safe… until it costs us momentum.
Truth be told: clarity doesn’t come before action — it comes from action. The call you’re delaying? The follow-up you keep pushing off? That’s the very thing that builds confidence and pipeline.
Real discipline isn’t about feeling ready. It’s about acting before the ego talks you out of it.
This week, pay attention to where you might be delaying — and ask what would happen if I took action anyway?
