A Brief History of the Rosary
“The rosary in its present form arose in late medieval Christianity when the Hail Mary began to evolve as a prayer from the devotion of Christians who saw her as the great witness of life of Christ. By the end of the 16th century, the practice of the 150 Hail Marys in decades was popular among many ordinary Christian people. The stories of the New Testament, contained in the Joyful, Sorrowful, and Glorious Mysteries were remembered during these prayers.”
