We take care of a colony of cats in our neighborhood- feeding them daily, giving them pets if they will allow it, naming them, getting them spayed or neutered, and vaccinations. We even build them little houses and grow them catnip!

So, we thought we were done this year with kitten season… But this morning, three tiny kittens appeared —hidden miracles born under the guardianship of a beloved feral queen named Spots.

We didn’t know she was pregnant. For 6 quiet weeks, she carried this secret life under trees and stars. And now—just as the fall light softens and the storms have passed—her babies curl into the sun.
